Giving ledger donors can verify

Where most NGOs are today

Great work, invisible online

Most NGOs run on a brochure website, a bank account number pasted on a flyer, and a WhatsApp group. A donor who wants to give has to send a transfer, screenshot it and hope someone confirms. Recurring giving — the thing that actually keeps programmes running — barely exists, because nobody can manage it by hand.

Reports, policy briefs and photos from the field sit in Google Drive folders the public never sees. And when a funder or a sceptical donor asks "where did the money go?", the answer is a spreadsheet emailed weeks later. Trust is the currency of every NGO, and most are spending it without knowing.

What Emkay Digitals built instead

Your mission, your donations and your proof — in one system

Proven on CREAP Africa Initiative

A fast, credible public website built around what a donor or partner needs to decide: what you do, where you work, what you've achieved, and how to give. Every programme, report and publication is a page you publish yourself from the dashboard.

Donations run through Paystack, so supporters can give once or set up a monthly gift by card, bank or transfer — and manage or cancel their own recurring gift without emailing you. Every payment is confirmed automatically and lands in the staff dashboard.

For organisations that want to lead on transparency, the platform adds a public giving ledger: donors can look up their own gift by a chosen username, and see spending logged against each project — with tamper-evident records that can be independently verified.

What a visitor sees

The public-facing site

Home & mission

A clear story of who you are, where you work and the change you're making — with live impact numbers you update yourself.

Programmes

Each programme or initiative gets its own page — what it is, who it serves, upcoming activities — so partners can find the work that matches their interest.

Donate

Paystack-powered giving for one-time and monthly recurring gifts in naira, with support for international cards. Every payment is confirmed automatically — no screenshot-and-wait.

My Giving

Recurring donors can view and cancel their own subscription from the site — no awkward email to your finance officer.

Transparency ledger

An optional public record of gifts (by chosen username) and of spending against each project, with tamper-evident verification.

Reports & publications

Annual, project and financial reports, policy briefs, toolkits and press statements — a searchable knowledge hub instead of a Google Drive link.

Get involved

Volunteer, partner and sponsor forms that write straight into the dashboard, so every offer of help is followed up.

Gallery & blog

Photos from the field and news updates, published the same day from the dashboard.

What your team runs the work on

The operations dashboard

This is the part most websites don't have at all — one login, three levels of access, everything the public site collects flowing straight in.

What it's built on

Trust & infrastructure

Every access rule is enforced at the database itself, and every payment is verified before it's recorded — donors' trust is built into the system, not promised in a footer.

Payments

Paystack handles every card and bank detail — your site never stores them. Each payment is verified server-side before it's recorded.

Access control

Staff roles enforced by row-level security on the database itself, so a volunteer account can't open finance records.

Tamper-evident ledger

Ledger entries are chained together cryptographically, so any later edit to a past record is detectable by anyone.

Foundation

React, TanStack Start and Supabase (Postgres, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions) on Cloudflare — fast, modern and actively maintained.

Content ownership

Every report, programme and donation record lives in your own database, exportable at any time.

How it plays out for one visitor

From a Google search to a member

01

Discover

A donor or partner finds you through search or social and immediately understands your mission and track record.

02

Trust

They read your reports, see projects in the field, and — where enabled — check the public ledger.

03

Give

They give once or monthly in under a minute, by card, bank or transfer, and get an automatic receipt.

04

Stay

Recurring givers manage their own gift, receive updates, and see where their money went.

Common questions

Questions NGO leaders ask us

Can donors outside Nigeria give?+

Yes. Paystack accepts international cards, and the platform can add Stripe for UK, US and European donors who prefer it.

We're not formally registered yet — can we still start?+

You can build and launch the website now. Payment providers like Paystack need your registration documents to activate live payments, so we usually set up giving in test mode and switch it on the day your documents are approved.

Is the public ledger compulsory?+

No. It's an option for organisations that want to lead on transparency. Many start with donations and reports, and add the ledger later.

Who updates the site after launch?+

Your own team, from the dashboard — new programmes, reports, photos and blog posts go live in seconds. No developer needed.
